Mrs. Lava is a little girl who lives on a tiny hill by the Enchanted Forest. She wears a red cloak and carries her favorite Teddy Bear. One morning Teddy Bear is missing. Mrs. Lava feels sad. She wipes a tear with her small hand and whispers, "Teddy, where are you?" She steps into the Enchanted Forest.
The trees stand tall. Bright flowers bloom. Tiny birds sing happy songs. Mrs. Lava walks slowly. She looks behind a soft green fern. No Teddy Bear. She calls, "Teddy Bear, come out!" A gentle voice answers, "I think I saw him." It is the Crystal Guardian. The Crystal Guardian is a sparkling light sprite. She wears a crown of blue crystals.
Crystal Guardian leads Mrs. Lava deeper in the forest. They pass a bubbling stream. Water glitters. A little frog hops by. Mrs. Lava says, "Hello frog! Have you seen Teddy Bear?" The frog croaks and points. Mrs. Lava and Crystal Guardian follow the frog.
They reach a clearing with a small castle made of silver bark. A kind Princess stands beside a mint green door. She holds a shiny pink shell. Mrs. Lava asks, "Princess, have you seen my Teddy Bear?" The Princess shakes her head. "But you can rest here a moment. Have some sweet honeybread." They eat and rest.
Suddenly a cackling laughter rings out. A Witch appears behind a tree. She wears a tall hat and carries a crooked wand. Mrs. Lava feels a quick fear. The Witch giggles, "Looking for a toy?" Mrs. Lava nods. "Yes, please give it back." The Witch’s eyes glimmer. She lifts her wand and waves it.
Teddy Bear floats down from a branch where he hung by his scarf. Mrs. Lava gasps with joy. She runs forward and hugs Teddy Bear tight. He smells like adventure and honeybread crumbs. Mrs. Lava laughs and says, "Thank you, Witch." The Witch smiles and taps Mrs. Lava’s head gently. Her voice is soft. "Be brave and kind. That is true magic." The Witch dissolves into a cloud of violet sparkles.
Mrs. Lava holds Teddy Bear and walks back with Crystal Guardian and the Princess. Birds cheer. Flowers bow. The forest glows with happy light. They arrive at the hill as the sun drops low. Mrs. Lava thanks her friends. She tucks Teddy Bear into her arms. She waves to Crystal Guardian and Princess.
At home Mrs. Lava and Teddy Bear sit by the fire. She drinks warm milk. Teddy Bear smiles. Mrs. Lava feels safe and loved. She closes her eyes and dreams of new adventures with her friends in the Enchanted Forest. Good night.
