Blue eyed Mae and the Lost Seashell

Kids stories

Blue eyed Mae, a brave little Fairy by the Ocean, helps a starfish find a lost shiny seashell—with a Prince, an Oracle, a Wizard, and even a lonely Dragon.
Blue eyed Mae and the Lost Seashell

Blue eyed Mae was a little Fairy who lived by the Ocean. She was gentle and brave. Her wings were small, but they worked very hard.

One morning, the Ocean looked sad. The water was still, and the waves did not clap.

Mae blinked her bright blue eyes. “Ocean, are you okay?”

A tiny starfish cried, “My shiny seashell is gone! It helps the tide sing.”

Mae nodded. “We will find the lost seashell.”

On a smooth rock sat a Prince. He was kind and a bit silly. He wore a crown made of seaweed.

“I can help!” said the Prince. “I can look with my big royal eyes.”

Nearby, an Oracle floated in a bubble. The Oracle spoke softly. “Look where the water whispers. Follow the hush-hush sound.”

A Wizard popped up from a splash. His hat was soaked. “I have a spell,” he said. “But I forget the last word.”

Mae giggled. “It’s okay. We can try together.”

They walked along the Ocean edge. Mae listened. The water went, “shhh… shhh…” like a bedtime song.

Then they saw tracks in wet sand. Big, round, and heavy.

The Prince gulped. “That looks like… a Dragon.”

A Dragon rose from behind a tall wave. It was huge. Its scales were green like sea glass. It did not roar. It sniffed.

Mae held her wand tight, but she did not poke. She used her calm voice.

“Hello, Dragon,” Mae said. “Did you take a shiny seashell?”

The Dragon’s tummy rumbled. “I did,” it said. “I wanted it. It sparkled. I feel lonely in my cave.”

The Oracle whispered, “Curiosity can grab things. Kindness can give them back.”

Mae flew closer, slow and careful. “Dragon, you can look at it,” she said. “But the starfish needs it to help the tide sing.”

The Dragon frowned. “I do not want the Ocean to be sad.”

The Wizard scratched his wet beard. “I remember my spell! ‘Return, please!’”

Mae smiled. “Let’s do a sharing spell.”

All together they said, “Shine and share!”

A soft light filled the air. The Dragon opened its claw. There was the lost seashell.

The Prince clapped. “Hooray!”

Mae gave the shell back to the starfish. The Ocean began to move again. Waves clapped: clap-clap, clap-clap.

The Dragon looked down. “Do I get nothing?”

Mae shook her head. “You get something. Come to the shore and listen with us.”

The starfish surprised everyone. “And… you can have a treasure too.” It rolled out a small sand chest.

Inside were tiny pearl buttons, smooth and safe. “For friends,” said the starfish.

Mae took one pearl button. The Prince took one. The Wizard took one for his hat. Even the Dragon took one and smiled.

The Oracle said, “Now you know a new skill, Mae: brave kindness.”

Mae looked at her pearl button. It sparkled like the Moon. “I like brave kindness,” she said.

That night, the Ocean sang again, and everyone listened, together.
