Luis was a little green Dinosaur with soft blue spots. He lived in the Wizard's Greenhouse. The greenhouse was warm and bright. Red flowers hummed. Yellow flowers winked. Big leaves made tiny umbrellas when it rained.
Luis was kind. He was also a little shy. When a plant sneezed, “Achoo!,” Luis jumped back. Then he always came close to help.
His best friend was Teddy Bear. Teddy Bear wore a round hat and carried a tiny watering can. He was cuddly, cheerful, and very good at finding things.
One morning, Luis saw the Moonflower droop.
“Oh no,” said Luis. “The Moonflower is sleepy.”
The Moonflower had silver petals. At night, it made the whole greenhouse glow. But now its petals were grey. Its little bell was quiet.
Teddy Bear put a paw on the soil. “It needs three magic drops,” he said. “One dewdrop, one rainbow drop, and one sunny drop.”
“I can help,” whispered Luis.
Just then, clink, clank, clink! Sun Knight came through the golden door. He had shiny armor and a bright yellow cape. He was not mean, but he was very bossy.
“Only sunshine can fix a flower!” boomed Sun Knight. “Move away. I will shine at it.”
He lifted his sun shield. Flash! The greenhouse became too bright.
The Moonflower folded its petals tighter.
Luis looked worried. Teddy Bear said, “The flower needs gentle help. Not big help.”
Sun Knight frowned. “Big help is my best help.”
Luis took a slow breath. “Please, Sun Knight. Can we try together?”
Sun Knight blinked. No one had asked him to help together before.
“Together?” he said.
“Together,” said Teddy Bear.
First, they looked under the fern for a dewdrop. Luis used his long tail to lift a leaf. Plop! A round dewdrop rolled into Teddy Bear’s watering can.
“One!” cheered Teddy Bear.
Next, they went to the rainbow window. A little rainbow was hiding behind a tall cactus.
“I am too shy to come out,” said the rainbow.
Luis knew about being shy. “You can come out a tiny bit,” he said.
The rainbow made one small stripe. Drip! A rainbow drop fell into the can.
“Two!” cheered Teddy Bear.
Now they needed a sunny drop. Sun Knight stood very still.
“I can make a very big sun,” he said.
“A tiny sun, please,” said Luis.
Sun Knight tried. His shield flashed. Too big.
He tried again. Flash. Still big.
Teddy Bear hugged his leg. “Slow and small.”
Sun Knight breathed in. He breathed out. Then he made one warm, soft sparkle.
Plink! A sunny drop landed in the watering can.
“Three!” cried Luis.
Together, they poured the three drops onto the Moonflower’s roots. They waited.
Nothing happened.
Luis felt scared. Teddy Bear held his claw. Sun Knight lowered his shiny head.
Then the Moonflower went, “Ding!”
One silver petal opened.
“Ding-ding!”
Two more petals opened.
Soon the Moonflower was glowing brighter than a night lamp. Silver stars danced across the glass roof. Every flower hummed a happy song.
The Moonflower gave Luis a gift: a small golden seed in a blue box.
“This is a Brave Helper Seed,” sang the flower. “Plant it with a friend.”
Luis smiled. He was still little. He was still sometimes shy. But he had used his kind voice.
Sun Knight smiled too. “I learned something,” he said. “Small sunshine can be strong sunshine.”
They planted the golden seed together. Pop! It grew into a tiny tree with candy-shaped leaves.
Teddy Bear picked three honey-sweet leaf treats. One for Luis. One for Teddy Bear. One for Sun Knight.
They sat beneath the new tree, munching softly.
Above them, the Moonflower shone.
And the Wizard's Greenhouse glowed all night long.
