Elenora is an Explorer. She is small, gentle, and brave. She likes to look, listen, and tip-toe.
Today she is in the BioDome. The BioDome is round and bright. There are tall green plants. There is warm air. There are tiny water drops on the glass.
Elenora holds her little map. “Hello, BioDome,” she whispers.
A soft pad-pad comes near.
Wolf appears. Wolf is fluffy and gray. Wolf is curious. Wolf is also very loyal. He sniffs the air. “Sniff! I smell… trouble,” Wolf says.
Elenora blinks. “What trouble?”
Wolf points with his nose. In the middle garden, a big flower droops. It used to glow. Now it is dull.
Elenora feels a tiny worry in her tummy. “We help,” she says.
They walk to the flower. The leaves look sleepy.
A shadow swirls behind a vine.
Sorceress steps out. She has a long cloak and sharp shoes. Her voice is cold like a fridge. “No glow for you,” she says.
Elenora stands still. Wolf steps in front. “Grr… not nice,” Wolf says, but his tail shakes.
Sorceress lifts her hand. “I hid the Shine Seed,” she says. “Without it, the flower cannot glow.”
Elenora takes a slow breath. “Where is it?” she asks.
Sorceress smiles. “Find it… if you can.” Whoosh! She vanishes like smoke.
Wolf looks at Elenora. “We find Shine Seed!”
Elenora nods. “We look. We listen.”
They explore.
They pass the misty fern room. Drip, drip. Elenora hears a tiny plink. “Water sound,” she says.
They pass the cactus corner. Prickly, prickly. Wolf says, “No boops!”
They reach a dark tunnel of leaves. Elenora feels scared. She holds Wolf’s fur. “Together,” she whispers.
Wolf is steady. “Together,” he says.
Inside the leafy tunnel, the air smells sweet. Elenora spots little sparkles on the ground. “Glitter,” she says. “Follow.”
They follow the sparkles to a warm pond. On a rock sits a small acorn-shaped box. It is tied with a red string.
Elenora taps it. “Hello?”
The box wiggles. “I am stuck,” it squeaks.
Elenora giggles. “A talking box!”
Wolf nudges the knot. “I can chew?”
“Gentle,” Elenora says.
Wolf chews softly. The string pops free.
Click! The box opens.
Inside is the Shine Seed. It glows like a tiny star.
Elenora claps. “We found it!”
But then—whoosh—Sorceress appears again. “Give it,” she snaps.
Elenora holds the seed close. Her knees shake, but her voice stays kind. “The flower is sad,” she says. “We share the glow.”
Sorceress frowns. “I do not share.”
Wolf sits and tilts his head. “If flower glows, BioDome is pretty. Pretty is nice,” he says.
Elenora takes one step forward. “You can help too,” she says.
Sorceress looks at the droopy flower. For a moment, her eyes look tired.
Elenora places the Shine Seed in the soil.
Plop.
The flower lifts. The petals open. Warm light fills the BioDome. The glass shines. The plants sparkle.
Sorceress gasps. The light touches her cloak. It turns from dark to deep purple, like a berry.
“I… like this,” Sorceress says, quieter.
Elenora smiles. “You can stay, if you are gentle.”
Sorceress nods once. “I will be gentle.”
The flower drops two gifts: a small shiny bead for Elenora, and a tiny glowing tag for Wolf’s collar.
Elenora holds her bead. “Treasure!”
Wolf wags his tail. “Glow tag!”
They walk home through the BioDome, light all around.
Elenora whispers, “Brave steps. Kind heart.”
Wolf says, “And snacks later?”
Elenora laughs. “Yes. Snacks later.”
